Lockheed, Northrop and Raytheon ink $7.6B in missile interceptor contracts

"...Lockheed Martin Corp. (NYSE: LMT) obtained a $3.69 billion award, while Northrop Grumman Corp. (NYSE: NOC) and Raytheon Technologies Corp. (NYSE: RTX) teamed on a $3.93 billion contract to design the next iteration of the Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA) ground-based interceptor missile. The contracts call for “technology development and risk reduction” of the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) All-Up-Round, including a modernized booster and hit-to-kill payload for the missile, which serves as the the Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA) ground-based defense weapon against Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM)..."
