Kongsberg wins biggest-ever missile contract from US Navy, Marines

"...Norwegian defense firm Kongsberg won a five-year contract from the US Navy worth around US$900 million to supply anti-ship missiles, in what the company says is its biggest missile contract ever. ...The fixed-price contract is valued at 10 billion Norwegian kroner (US$896 million), with options that could lift the cumulative value to about 12 billion kroner. The company will also supply the missile to the U.S. Marine Corps for the Navy Marine Expeditionary Ship Interdiction System, or NMESIS."

Kongsberg to set up missile plant in Australia, joins local ammo push

"...CHRISTCHURCH, News Zealand — Australia and the local subsidiary of Norway-based Kongsberg will establish a new missile production in the country, as the company joins other global munitions players in a multibillion-dollar, local push to ramp up munitions production. Construction of the new factory is slated to commence before year’s end, producing and servicing Naval Strike Missiles (NSM) and Joint Strike Missiles (JSM). ..."

NASAMS is a ground-to-air-based defence missile system which is used in around 18 countries of the world. NASAMS system protects against UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles), cruise missiles, and UCAV (unmanned combat aerial vehicles). “We demonstrated how integrated defense solutions enable the warfighter to deploy the right effector at the right time and at the right target,” said Wes Kremer, president of Raytheon Missiles & Defense. “Using fielded systems, our goal is to provide customers the quickest, most effective way to protect their people and critical infrastructure with layered cruise missile defense.”...In the latest experiment conducted by Raytheon Missiles & Defense, a part of Raytheon Technologies business, and Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace, version 3 of NASAMS was used to fire AIM-9X, AMRAAM, and AMRAAM-ER missiles.
